Flabee Sdn. Bhd. and UniMAP Explore Academic and Research Collaboration Following IDSSC 2026.

Flabee Sdn. Bhd. and Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) have taken a meaningful step towards exploring potential academic and research collaboration following a meeting held on 2 July 2026 at the UniMAP Main Campus in Pauh Putra, Perlis.

The meeting brought together Ms Jezzlyn Siu Cia Yee, Managing Director of Flabee Sdn. Bhd., and representatives from Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) during her visit to the university as a jury member for the Integrated Design and Smart Systems Challenge 2026 (IDSSC 2026).

The engagement provided an opportunity for Flabee Sdn. Bhd. and UniMAP to connect, exchange perspectives and explore potential areas of collaboration between the industry and academic sectors.

Flabee Sdn. Bhd.’s Participation in IDSSC 2026

On 2 July 2026, Ms Jezzlyn Siu Cia Yee, Managing Director of Flabee Sdn. Bhd., visited Dewan Ilmu, Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), Main Campus Pauh Putra, Perlis, as a jury member for the Integrated Design and Smart Systems Challenge 2026 (IDSSC 2026).

Her participation as a jury member provided an opportunity to engage with UniMAP’s academic environment and gain exposure to the ideas and initiatives presented through the challenge.

Beyond her role as a jury member, the visit also created an opportunity for meaningful engagement between Flabee Sdn. Bhd. and UniMAP representatives.

The meeting allowed both parties to learn more about each other’s areas of expertise and consider how industry and academic capabilities could potentially complement one another.

Building Connections Between Industry and Academia

Collaboration between industry and higher education institutions can create opportunities for knowledge exchange, innovation and research development.

For Flabee Sdn. Bhd., engagement with an established university such as UniMAP represents an opportunity to explore how industry experience, technology and practical applications can potentially work together with academic knowledge and research capabilities.

The meeting on 2 July 2026 marked an important opportunity for both parties to begin exploring these possibilities.

Rather than focusing solely on a single event, the engagement opened the possibility of developing a longer-term relationship between Flabee Sdn. Bhd. and UniMAP.

UniMAP Issues Letter of Intent to Flabee Sdn. Bhd.

Following the engagement, Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) issued a Letter of Intent (LoI) to Flabee Sdn. Bhd. dated 21 July 2026.

The LoI expresses the intention of both parties to explore cooperation, particularly in the area of academic and research collaboration.

This represents a positive development in the relationship between Flabee Sdn. Bhd. and UniMAP, as both organisations look towards opportunities to work together and explore areas where their respective knowledge, expertise and resources may complement one another.

The LoI provides a framework for both parties to continue discussions in good faith and explore potential areas of collaboration.

What the Letter of Intent Means

The Letter of Intent should be viewed as an expression of interest and an initial step towards exploring potential collaboration.

It does not, by itself, represent a final commercial contract or establish a detailed project agreement between Flabee Sdn. Bhd. and UniMAP.

Instead, the LoI provides an opportunity for both parties to continue discussions and consider the potential scope of future cooperation.

Any specific projects, responsibilities, resources, financial arrangements or other detailed terms would need to be discussed and agreed upon separately through the appropriate formal arrangements between the two organisations.

This approach allows both Flabee Sdn. Bhd. and UniMAP to explore opportunities while ensuring that any future collaboration can be developed based on clearly agreed objectives and responsibilities.

Exploring Future Academic and Research Opportunities

The potential collaboration between Flabee Sdn. Bhd. and UniMAP could create opportunities for both industry and academia to exchange knowledge and explore new ideas.

For an industry-driven organisation such as Flabee Sdn. Bhd., collaboration with an academic institution can provide opportunities to engage with research expertise and academic perspectives.

At the same time, industry engagement can provide universities with greater exposure to real-world business environments, technology applications and practical challenges faced by organisations operating in the market.

Through continued discussions, Flabee Sdn. Bhd. and UniMAP can explore areas where their respective capabilities may contribute towards meaningful academic and research initiatives.

The specific areas of collaboration, however, will depend on further discussions and mutual agreement between both parties.

From IDSSC 2026 to a New Collaboration Opportunity

The sequence of events demonstrates how professional engagement can develop into new opportunities for collaboration.

The journey began with Ms Jezzlyn Siu Cia Yee representing Flabee Sdn. Bhd. as a jury member at IDSSC 2026 on 2 July 2026.

Her visit to UniMAP’s Main Campus in Pauh Putra provided an opportunity for interaction with UniMAP representatives and opened the door to further discussions.

Less than three weeks later, on 21 July 2026, UniMAP issued a Letter of Intent to Flabee Sdn. Bhd. expressing an intention to explore academic and research collaboration.

While the LoI is not a final agreement, it represents an encouraging step in establishing a stronger connection between Flabee Sdn. Bhd. and UniMAP.

Flabee Sdn. Bhd.’s Commitment to Innovation and Collaboration

Flabee Sdn. Bhd. continues to recognise the importance of collaboration, innovation and knowledge exchange in developing solutions and services that can create meaningful value for the community.

Engagement with academic institutions such as UniMAP provides an opportunity to connect practical industry experience with academic knowledge and research capabilities.

The relationship with UniMAP reflects Flabee Sdn. Bhd.’s openness to exploring partnerships that can contribute towards innovation, knowledge development and potential future initiatives.

As discussions progress, both parties can continue to identify areas of mutual interest and assess opportunities for meaningful collaboration.

Looking Ahead

The Letter of Intent dated 21 July 2026 marks an important milestone following Flabee Sdn. Bhd.’s engagement with UniMAP during IDSSC 2026.

Although further discussions are required before any specific collaboration is formally established, the LoI provides a positive foundation for Flabee Sdn. Bhd. and UniMAP to explore future academic and research opportunities.

Flabee Sdn. Bhd. looks forward to continuing its engagement with UniMAP and exploring how industry and academia can work together to create opportunities for innovation, research and knowledge exchange.

The 2 July 2026 engagement at Dewan Ilmu, UniMAP Main Campus Pauh Putra, Perlis, therefore marks more than just a university visit. It represents the beginning of a potential industry-academic relationship between Flabee Sdn. Bhd.and Universiti Malaysia Perlis — with opportunities to build towards meaningful collaboration in the future.
